Sunday. Jerry. Servants.

Comb the universe, as I do daily by reading the New York Times, and walking in the woods, and surprising what you'll find. Here's Jerry Seinfeld, in the Sunday Arts Section, promoting his new series the Marriage Ref, waxing eloquent about the creative process:

Ideas are a terrible obligation.

If it's a good idea, you become its servant.

A good idea has draft suction.

Of course, recognition of the powerlessness one feels in the grip of an idea, doesn't keep Jerry from going forward.

I identify, Jerry. I could be spending this Sunday at the gym, or the movies, and instead I'm churning out an argument for USAID, that they should give me $390,000 to run Stories For Hope in Africa for the next two years. Total long shot, but I'm there.
